Business confidence in Mauritius rose in the first quarter of 2017, a survey of leading private companies on the Indian Ocean island showed on Thursday.
The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s quarterly confidence index climbed 4.5 percent to 101.9 points, topping the long-term average of 100 points for the first time since September 2012.
The chamber said the index was buoyed by the construction and tourism sectors.
The economy is expected to grow by 3.8 percent this year, up from 3.5 percent last year
